Annette Glover

Annette Barefoot Glover, 89, of Elm City, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 17, 2026 at her home.

Funeral, Wednesday, 1:00 PM, at First Christian Church followed by visitation.

Mrs. Glover was born on January 26, 1937 in Dunn, NC. She was raised by a loving family where she was nurtured in the Christian faith that laid the foundation for her life that valued caring for all of God’s children. She graduated from Atlantic Christian College that prepared her for teaching children in the Wilson County Schools.

She married John Glover a local farmer and they shared 67 years together devoted to raising their family and serving their community. She was an active member of First Christian Church in Wilson where she sang in the choir for 65 years, taught children’s classes, worked with youth groups, and served in the Christian Women’s Fellowship ministry. Her warm gracious greetings and bright smiles will always be lovingly remembered and missed by her friends and family.

She is survived by her husband, John S. Glover; sons, Johnny Glover of Wilson and Paul Glover (Karen) of Elm City; grandson, Bryant Glover (Amber) and great- grandsons, Carter, Wyatt, and Jake; step-grandson, Spencer.

Mrs. Glover was preceded in death by her parents Erick Paul Barefoot and Martha Jane Jackson Barefoot and daughter-in-law, Judi Corbett Glover.
