Arthur William Meeks, Jr. ,77, died Monday, December 29, 2008. He was retired from the NC Department of Transportation and preceded in death by his parents, Arthur William and Mamie Taylor Meeks: sister, Margaret Cherry, and brother, Lynwood Meeks. Funeral, Wednesday, 1:00 PM, Evergreen Memorial Park. Surviving is his wife, Treba Bunn Meeks: sons, Kenneth A. "Charlie" Meeks (Jean) of Elm City and Richard G. "Ricky" Meeks of Wilson: granddaughter, Sherry Shafer of Wilson: great-grandchildren, Victoria and Clyde Shafer of Wilson: sisters, Mildred Proctor of Wilson and Hiawatha Harrell of Saratoga. The family will be at Wilson Memorial Service, 2811 Fieldstream Drive, Tuesday, 7 - 8:30. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Assn, 1108 Windemere Dr, NW, Wilson, NC 27896. of Elm City and Richard G.
