Ashley McKeel

Ashley Elmer McKeel, 99, of Saratoga, died Saturday, June 1, 2024.

A graveside service will be Wednesday, 12:00 Noon, at Good News Church Cemetery, 6990 News Church Rd, Stantonsburg.

Mr. McKeel was a farmer and caretaker for many years and enjoyed talking politics to anyone who would listen.

He is survived by his sons, Mike McKeel (Belinda) of Greenville, Glenn McKeel (Jessica) of Raleigh, Tim McKeel (Sandra) of Washington, DC, Gene McKeel (Kendle) of Myrtle Beach, SC, and John McKeel (Alyssa) of Los Angles, CA; nine grandchildren, including Justin McKeel who was his caregiver for the last five years, and several great-grandchildren.

Mr. McKeel was preceded in death by his wife Reba Baker McKeel; daughter, Susan McKeel Temple; son, Dennis McKeel; parents, Joseph Harrison and Hattie Shelton McKeel; sisters, Mattie Hinson, Hattie Bishop, Florence Rogers, and Susie Boykin; brothers, Joe McKeel, Dow McKeel, A.D. McKeel, and Charlie McKeel.
