Bertha, as she liked to be called, was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose faith, strength and nurturing spirit shaped generations of her family. She dedicated her life to her family, her faith and the simple joys that brought her the greatest happiness. For many years she worked both outside the home and along with her husband on the family farm. No matter how busy life became, she always made time to take her daughters to church and raise them in the strong faith she carried throughout life. Her home was known for its warmth, love and home-cooked meals shared with those she cherished most.
After retirement, Bertha lovingly cared for her grandchildren and continued her lifelong role as a caregiver. In her later years, she made her home with daughter, Terry, and husband, David, where she was surrounded by comfort, love and family. She also grew especially fond of the family dog, Macy Mae. who brought her great joy.
