Betty Parker

Betty Sasser Parker, 85, of Wilson, died Sunday, November 1, 2020.

A service was held for the family at Evergreen Memorial Park. A public service will be announced at a future date.

Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold Sasser, and Fannie and Rufus Hare; her husband, Ralph Parker; and her brother, Dr. Dwight Hare.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Carla Babb, and husband, Jonathan; grandsons, Elliot and Aaron Hollis; and step-grandchildren, Jonathan Babb, Jr. and Brooke Babb, all of Raleigh. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Jayne Hare; nephews, Lee (Caroline), Daniel (Liz), and Nathan; great-nephews Witt, Thomas, James, and Oliver; special friends, Crystal Jackson and Calvin and Van Jackson; and many beloved cousins.

The family extends its deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh for their wonderful care of Mrs. Parker at the end of her life.
