Bill Howell

William Henry “Bill” Howell, 84, of the New Hope Community, Wilson, died Friday, October 7, 2022, at home.

Funeral, Friday, October 14, 1:00 PM, Wilson Memorial Service.  Interment, Eureka Cemetery, Eureka, with Military Honors.  The visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday, 6-7:30 PM.

Surviving are his daughters, Rhonda Howell of Sims and Belynda Dietz (Jim) of Cleveland, GA; grandchildren, Elizabeth Edmundson, Jennifer and Lee Futch; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Khaleb, Hayleigh, Morgan, Zakariah and Jordan; step-daughter, Cindy Harrell (Steve) of Elm City; step-son, Nelson Boyette (Mary) of Durham; step-grandson, Will Woolard (Mari).

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Baker Howell, in May, 2021; parents, Henry and Hazel Taylor Howell of Greene County and Alice Moore of the Eureka Community who raised him from the time he was 13 days old. 

Bill joined the Marines at a young age and went on to serve for over 20 years before retiring as a Master Sergeant.
