ELM CITY – William Curtis “Billy” Gardner, 80, died Saturday, July 14, 2018.
Funeral, Wednesday, 11:00 AM, Wilbanks Christian Church, conducted by Dr. Bobby White and Dwight Batts, followed by interment in Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will be at Wilson Memorial Service, Wilson, Tuesday, 6:30 – 8:00 PM.
Surviving is his wife of nearly 60 years, Yvonne Varnell Gardner; daughter, Karen Wingfield (Jeff) of Elm City; son, Phil D. Gardner of Elm City; grandchildren, Kelli Edwards (Drew) of Elm City, Darren Gardner of Greenville, SC, and Eric Gardner of Greenville, NC; great-granddaughter, Katie Edwards; brother, Turner Gardner, Jr (Rebecca) of Elm City.
He was retired from Export Tobacco Company. A son of the late Turner and Mildred Thomas Gardner, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Doug.
Memorials are suggested to the Wilbanks Christian Church, c/o Eddie Jones, 5556 Weaver Rd, Elm City, NC 27822-8208.
