Bonnie Moore

Bonnie Jean Freeman Moore, of Raleigh, North Carolina, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 24, 2026, at the age of 74.

A visitation will be on Saturday, July 11, 2:00 – 3:00 PM at Wilson Memorial Service, Wilson.  Interment will be for and at the convenience of the family.

Born in Moultrie, Georgia, Bonnie was the beloved daughter of the late John Albert Freeman and Virginia Lynch Freeman. From an early age, she was grounded in Scripture by her mother and accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of five. As she grew in faith, she dedicated her life to serving the Lord—a commitment that guided every chapter of her life.

Bonnie was blessed with an extraordinary singing voice that became one of God's greatest gifts through her life and ministry. She studied music at the University of Montevallo, performed professionally at Six Flags Over Georgia, and in 1974 was crowned Miss Moultrie. The following year, she competed in the Miss Georgia Pageant, winning the talent competition for her vocal performance and finishing as fifth runner-up.

In the summer of 1975, while working on a tobacco farm in Georgia, Bonnie met the love of her life, Marvin. They were married for fifty years and celebrated their golden anniversary on June 19, 2026, just days before her passing.

Throughout her life, Bonnie faithfully used her musical gifts to glorify God. She was a beloved soloist in the churches where she worshiped, singing at countless worship services, weddings, funerals, revivals, and special events. For many years she was an active member of Providence Baptist Church in Raleigh, where she served in the choir and blessed the congregation through her ministry in song.

Bonnie also devoted herself to serving families through Amazing Grace Adoptions in Raleigh, where she worked as Adoption Support Services Coordinator. She helped countless families experience the joy of adoption, assisted with international adoption efforts, and traveled to Ukraine and Panama in support of the ministry. Certified as a trainer in North Carolina's foster care program, she faithfully served adoptive and foster families with compassion, wisdom, and unwavering faith.

Her love for missions also led her to travel extensively with AnGeL Ministries, sharing Christ's love in countries including Italy, Greece, the Philippines, and South Korea. Whether through music, prayer, or simple acts of kindness, Bonnie faithfully pointed others toward Jesus.

Above all, Bonnie cherished her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and treasured grandmother who poured herself into raising her three sons and later found immeasurable joy caring for her grandchildren. Known affectionately as "Nonnie" and "Beba," nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her seven grandchildren.

She was also the cherished youngest sister of Sam and Elaine, whom she loved dearly and always spoke of with great affection.

Bonnie loved North Carolina's beaches, family vacations to Georgia, dinners with close friends, music, animals, and creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. She was a faithful prayer warrior whose kindness, generosity, humor, and deep love for Christ left a lasting impact on everyone she met.

She is survived by her devoted husband of fifty years, Marvin Moore; her sons, Jay, Josh, and John; daughters-in-love, Christy, Amy, and Yasemin; her seven beloved grandchildren, Katie, Sophia, Kelsey, Olivia, Jack, Evelyn, and James; her dear sister, Elaine, widow of the late David Bullock; nieces Ginna and Anna and their families; nephew Ben; and many extended family members and cherished friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Sam, who is survived by his wife, Cheryl Huffman; and her nephew, John Sammy.

Bonnie's life was a beautiful testimony to God's grace. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched through her music, her service to adoptive families, her unwavering faith, and her deep love for her family and friends.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." — 2 Timothy 4:7

Bonnie finished her race with devotion and faithfulness. While she will be deeply missed, her family rejoices in the promise that she is now in the presence of the Savior she loved and served so faithfully throughout her life.

"Well done, good and faithful servant." — Matthew 25:23
