Brenda Bass

Brenda Wells Bass, 73, of Wilson, died Saturday, October 10, 2026.

Her funeral will be at Wilson Memorial Service on Tuesday, 1:00 PM, followed by visitation. Burial will be in the Black Creek Cemetery.

Brenda was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and cherished aunt whose life was centered around the people she loved most. For nearly 51 years, she shared a loving marriage with her husband, building a life and family that meant everything to her.

As a homemaker, Brenda devoted herself to her family and took great pride in being involved in her children’s lives, always wanting to be there for the moments that mattered most. Her love extended far beyond her immediate family, as she held a special place in the hearts of many nieces and nephews who looked to her as a second mother. She had a way of making those she loved feel cared for and special.

Of all her many blessings, her two grandchildren, Emma and Eugene, brought her some of her greatest joy. She was immensely proud of them and loved them with all her heart. She would do anything for them and treasured every opportunity to be part of their lives, always wanting them to know just how deeply they were loved.

Brenda’s greatest legacy is the love she gave so freely to her family. While her passing leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of those who love her, there is comfort and joy in knowing she has been reunited with her beloved daughter, Amanda. Though Brenda will be deeply missed here on earth, the thought of their reunion brings peace to those she leaves behind.

Brenda will forever be cherished for her devotion to her family, the special place she held in so many hearts, and the lasting impact she made on the lives of those fortunate enough to know and love her.

She is survived by her husband Gene Bass; son, Selby Bass (Brooke); grandchildren, Emma Kaye Bass and Eugene Bass; brothers, Greg Wells and Ronnie Wells of Wilson and Rev. Larry Wells (Wanda) of Seven Lakes; several nieces and nephews.

Brenda was preceded in death by her daughter Amanda Kaye Bass and parents, Bill and Katie Wilson Jones.
