ROCKY MOUNT - Benjamin Thomas "B.T." Heath, 79, of the Joyner's Crossroads community died July 19, 2011.
Funeral, Friday, 7 PM, Wilson Memorial Service, followed by a time of visiting.
B.T. retired from CSX Railroad with 25 years of service. He then worked 18 years for Waste Industries until his final illness. He grew up on a farm and continued vegetable gardening throughout his life.
Surviving is his wife, Mary Elizabeth Jones Heath; daughter, Charlene Pridgen of Rocky Mount; granddaughter, Necole Rhodes (William) of Rocky Mount; great-grandchildren, Trey, Ashton, Necolus and Noah Rhodes; sister, Grace Proctor of FL; brother, Brooks Heath (Joy) of Wilson; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Lida Tyndall Heath; sister, Erma Dell Blalock; brothers, Floyd, Sidney and Odell Heath.
A public note of thanks is extended to the Nash General Hospital ICU Staff in Rocky Mount and to the CV Staff of University Health Services in Greenville.
