Buck Newsome

Nathan L. “Buck” Newsome, Jr., 88, of Fremont, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family Monday, May 26, 2025.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 3:00 PM, at Wilson Memorial Service, Wilson, followed by visitation. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Fremont.

Mr. Newsome is survived by the mother of his sons, Shirley Davis Newsome; sons and their families, David and Laura Newsome, Natalie Newsome and Hayden Neal, Emily Newsome Vaughan, Daniel and Casie Newsome, Payton Grimes, Oliva Newsome, and Blakely Grimes; Larry and Tammy Newsome, Alex and Heather Newsome, and Charlotte Newsome; Paul Newsome, Hunter and Blake Jones; Brent and Melissa Newsome, Austin and Sara Thigpen, and Matthew Newsome; Bruce and Melissa Newsome, Bryce and Nicole Newsome; Randy Dawson; sisters, Nancy Mooring (Allen) and Linda Huggins (Van).

He was preceded in death by his parents Nathan and Emily Minshew Newsome; sisters, Jean Thorne and Judy O’Neal; grandson-in-law, Thor Vaughan.
