STANTONSBURG - Carlton B. "Monk" Owens, 80, died Sunday, April 18, 2010. Funeral, Tuesday, 7:00 PM, First Baptist Church, Stantonsburg, followed by a time of visiting and sharing. Interment, Wednesday, 10:00 AM, Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. Surviving is his daughter, Gale Tyndall (Owen) of Lindell; granddaughters, Shannon Honeycutt (Russell) of Godwin and Tara Carter (Tim) of Snow Hill; great-grandchildren, Meagan, Jami and Anna Grayce Honeycutt, Hunter & Lexi Jernigan; sisters, Thelma Newcomb of Wilson and Hortense Ford of Rocky Mount; brother, Leonard Owens (Beatrice) of Wilson. His wife, Betty Oakey Owens, died in 2006. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church, PO Box 57, Stantonsburg, NC 27883.
