Catherine Piner

Catherine Davis Piner, 81, of Wilson, passed away peacefully at home Friday, January 19, 2024.

Mrs. Piner was preceded in death by her husband and soulmate of 52 years, Horace Glenn Piner, Jr., and infant son, Patrick Glenn Piner; her parents, Catherine Frances Lambert Davis and Earl Judson Davis of Arlington, VA.; her mother- and father-in-law, Horace Glenn Piner and Lucy Outlaw Piner of Wilson; sisters-in-law, Hilda Piner Edmundson of Tarboro and Margrite Piner Hill Williams of Kinston; and brothers-in-law, Boyce Edmundson of Pilot and Daniel Dortch Price of Seven Springs; and countless friends and extended family members. 

She is survived by her daughter, Catherine Lucy Piner of Wilson; her sister-in-law and cherished friend, Iva Lois Price of Seven Springs; and many nieces, nephews and their families, and friends and neighbors who loved her and she them.  

Mrs. Piner was known for her kindness and generosity, selflessness, and loyalty.  She worked tirelessly for more than 20 years for the Mental Health Association of Wilson.

She was an animal lover and champion of all living creatures.  She is survived by one granddog, Miss Purdy, and two grandcats, Batman and Miss Batty whom she loved dearly.

She danced to Bad Bad Leroy Brown every time she heard it.  

She is definitely going to a better place and my father is anxiously awaiting her there.  It will be a glorious reunion.
