He is survived by his wife, Teresa Carter Ellis; daughters, Laura Lee Kulesher (James) of Oakland, CA, Erica Pittman (Kevin) of Raleigh; grandson, Smith Carter Pittman; brother, Danny Ellis of Lumberton. mother-in-law, Myrtle Worrell Carter of Wilson.
