Chris Jones

James Christopher ‘Chris’ Jones, 58, of Wilson, died Friday, September 1, 2023, in his home.

The family will be at Wilson Memorial Service, Tuesday, 6:00 – 8:00 PM.  The funeral will be Wednesday, 3:30 PM at Westview Cemetery, Kinston.

Surviving is his mother, Linda Dunn Jones Melvin of the home; sister, Dionne Hill-Williams (Todd) of Wilson; step-daughter, Rebecca Sullivan of Wilson; step-son, Steven Sullivan of Wilson; step-grandchildren, Zayden and Kyson Sullivan; special cousins, Louie Deaver (Katie) and Joshua Deaver (Ashley) of Kinston, Craig Hill (Eden) of Cedar Point, Gary and Greg Williamson (Janet) of Wilson; Tammy Rouse of South Carolina; aunt, Jeannie Hasley of Kinston; life-long friends, Thomas White (Carol) of Kinston and Chris White of Stedman; special nephews, Nicholas Barden and Ryan Hill (Jenn) of Raleigh, Corey Hill of Washington State.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Earl Jones.

Chris was a self employed plumber and many knew him as kind and helpful as a plumber-pro for Lowe's of Wilson.

Chris had many hobbies with fishing being his favorite. He enjoyed it most with Craig Hill who was like a brother to him.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Gentiva Hospice nurses: Monique Lee, Clara McClelland, and Ann Durham. Thank you also to caretakers Lashay and Joyce.
