Chrisanne Gliarmis

Chrisanne Gliarmis, 64, of Wilson, died Sunday, September 6, 2026.

A visitation will be held at Wilson Memorial Service on Thursday, September 10 from 1:00 – 2:00 PM followed by a Prayer Service at 2:00 PM.

Chrisanne was a lifelong Wilsonian who cast a wide net of love and friendship. Her close to 50 years at her family’s Dick’s Hotdog Stand made her a local icon even though she avoided the spotlight at any cost.

Chrisanne graduated from Fike High School where she loved being a cheerleader with some of her dearest friends. As a senior, she was selected to cheer at the North-South All-Star Football game played at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium in Greenville. After high school, she moved to Atlantic Beach with friends for a short time…a period in her life that brought her so much happiness. She always had a village of friends who enjoyed life as much as she did…music, dancing, celebrating life with so much joy! She went on to gain an Associate’s Degree from Wilson Community College all while working at Dick’s with her dad and siblings.

Chrisanne dealt with several health issues for many years but she handled it all with amazing grace, as she never stopped fighting and never stopped enjoying her life. Her family, her friends, her work at Dick’s Hotdog Stand, started by her grandfather in 1921, all kept her busy and connected to her community and her family heritage. Through her years at Dick’s, she “adopted” so many of the young people she worked with and some of those still there…Austin Etheridge, Anne Robl Benton, Renee Ellis to name a few…worked with her for decades, literally becoming family. And we can’t forget Sara Redding who became her “right hand” as it became harder for her to work at her normal pace. She was also blessed to work with her niece and nephews Sallie, Zach, Walker and John Gliarmis as they did their high school and college stints and most recently, side by side with her nephew Nicholas and her Godson Christopher once he took the reins after his uncle Soc retired. She adored her pets Chi Chi, Mr. Pete and Mr. Sweet, her Fike Golden Demons football, going to the beach, shopping and cooking for others. But her most precious moments were those spent with her nephews and niece and later in life, her great nieces and great nephew.

Those left to remember her amazing life will never forget her fortitude, her giving spirit and above all, her tremendous heart. She is survived by her sister, Ricki Gliarmis Barger (Ray) of Wilson; brothers, Socrates Gliarmis (Karen) of Atlantic Beach and Lee Gliarmis (Ginger) of Wilson; nieces and nephews, Frankie Barger (Brittany) and Christopher Barger (Haley), Nicholas and Zachary Gliarmis (Megan) and John, Walker, and Sallie Gliarmis; great-nieces, Alaina and Olivia and great nephew, Ares Barger.

Chrisanne was preceded in death by her parents Lee and Janie Gliarmis.
