Christine Talton

Christine Turnage Talton, 90, passed away peacefully on June 4th, 2025.

The funeral will be Friday, June 6th, 2:00 PM, at Wilson Memorial Service followed by visitation.  Interment will be for and at the convenience of the family.

Mrs. Talton was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother, she spent her life caring for others and creating a warm, welcoming home filled with love, laughter, and the comforting aromas of home-cooked meals.

Born into a bustling household as one of 11 children, Christine grew up alongside 10 beloved brothers and sisters, cherishing the lifelong bonds that shaped her early years. Her nurturing spirit and tireless dedication to her family were evident in everything she did—from her lovingly tended flowers to the countless cups of coffee and chocolate cake shared around her kitchen table.

She was married to the love of her life, Royce, for 53 wonderful years, and though she was preceded in death by her husband, their legacy lives on in the family they built together. 

She is survived by her devoted daughters, Vickie Aycock (Phil) and Jody Teague (Tony) of Lucama:, grandchildren, April Letchworth (Will), Andrew Aycock, and Kayla Teague; great-grandchildren, Lainey and Ava Letchworth; sisters, Jackie Taylor (George) of Wilson, Ethel Gates of Lucama, Linda Watts of Texas; brother, Gary Turnage (Sandra) of Deep Run; and her sitter and friend Gwen Burgess of Lucama.

Mrs. Talton was preceded in death by her husband Royce Harrell Talton; parents, George & Bessie Turnage; sisters, Doris Howard, Faye Evans, & Grace Barnes; brothers, Melvin Turnage, Freeman Turnage, and Danny Turnage.

Her memory will be treasured by all who loved her, and her legacy will live on in the lives she touched so deeply.
