Connie Herring White Collins, 76, of Wilson, passed away peacefully on Tuesday September 3, 2024.
Funeral services will be held September 11 at the First Presbyterian Church Columbarium in the Memorial Garden at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends at Connie’s home Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00pm.
She attended Fike High School and graduated from Peace College. Connie had a genuine warm, easy-going personality that drew people in and everyone who came in contact with her loved her.
She was a beautiful person inside and out and extremely selfless and had a passion for cooking and found immense joy preparing meals for others. She was a resilient person and known for her strength, her style, and her kindness. She was an avid reader and loved the outdoors including fishing, hunting, boating, and playing tennis.
Connie is survived by her son, Carter White and wife, Blythe; daughter, Stephanie Smith, husband, John T.; sister, Wortley Forbes and husband, Vance; grandchildren, Collins and Carter White; John T. Jr., Carr, and Louise Smith; nieces, Wortley Whitehead Forbes and Lauren Forbes Good and husband, Stacy and special family member Henrietta McIntosh.
She was preceded in death by her parents William Carter (Billy) and Wortley Herring.
