FREMONT - David E. Yelverton, 78, died Saturday, October 21, 2006, at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Goldsboro. He was born in Wayne County, farmed all of his life, was a World War II veteran and attended Fremont Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral, Tuesday, 11:00 AM, Elmwood Cemetery, Fremont, conducted by Rev. Powell Dew. Surviving is his wife of 61 years, Lee Garris Yelverton: three sons, Dred Yelverton (Dana) of High Point, Whit Yelverton (Lori) of Fredericksburg, VA, and Kent Yelverton (Connie) of Wendell: grandchildren, Mitchell, Wyatt, Matthew, Phillip, Jesse, Morgan, Nicholas Yelverton: sister, Judy Y. Scott of Goldsboro. The family will be at home, 1979 NC 222 E, Monday, 6:30 - 8:30 PM.
