Deborah “Debbie” Barnes McDaniel, 65, of Wilson, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. After a courageous and enduring battle with Parkinson’s disease, Debbie’s strength and infectious laughter remained a source of inspiration to all who knew her.
A memorial service will be Saturday, January 3rd at 11:00 am, at the First Presbyterian Church, followed by visitation.
Debbie was a graduate of Atlantic Christian College and Hunt High School. She ran operations and finances for her family’s business, A & F Equipment Company, for many years. Debbie later owned a stationery and gift store, Fine Print Stationery. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, eating sweet treats, and playing with her dogs Finley and Lilly.
She is survived by her husband Ross Richardson McDaniel; daughters, Sydney McDaniel DeLancey and husband, Justin, and Connor Elizabeth McDaniel of Wilson; brother, Frederick “Freddie” Odell Barnes and wife, Jeanie, of Wilson.
Debbie was fortunate to be surrounded by many dear friends, who she considered family.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the caregivers who provided support throughout Debbie’s journey.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents Joseph Alton Barnes and Evelyn Creech Barnes.
