Dennis Watson

Dennis Ray Watson, 69, of Elm City, died Wednesday, January 28, 2026.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, 3:00 PM, at Wilson Memorial Service followed by visitation.

He is survived by his daughter, Marcy Watson O’Connell (Elias) of Lucama; six grandchildren, Blake, Tyler, Emma, Eli, Jaxon and Cheyenne; sisters, Carol Hathaway Upchurch (Edward) of Elm City, Patricia Hathaway Jones of Wilson, Frankie Watson Sweatt of Fayetteville and Helen Hathaway Reusch of Raleigh; brothers, Charles Ingram of Kenansville and James “Tony” Watson (Lydia) of Williamsburg, VA.; uncle, Eugene Whitman of Henderson; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Thelma Whitman Watson; sisters, Shirley Casey-Warren and Linda Summerlin; brothers, Johnnie “Sonny” Watson, Julian Watson, and infants Timmie and Jimmie Watson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
