Dolly Lancaster Mozingo, 80, of Wilson, passed away peacefully on September 1st, 2026, following a period of declining health. She was born on August 12, 1946, in Wayne County to the late James Franklin and Hester Hill Lancaster.
Dolly made her home in Wilson while working for Bridgestone/Firestone until her retirement. She had a heart that was loyal, caring, and full of love for her family. Her faith was an important part of her life; Dolly loved God and her church service that she faithfully watched on television up until her passing. Her faith gave her the strength she needed to face difficult moments during her last days.
Above all, Dolly treasured her family. She leaves behind sisters-in-law Edna and Reba Lancaster, brother-in-law Jimmy Green, 21-nieces and nephews along with their families and many great-nieces, and great-nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Annie “Sissy” Lancaster, Ruby Hicks, and AgnesGreen, and her brothers Kenneth Royal, Jimmy, Add, Clovis Eugene, and Bobby Lancaster.
While the family grieves her absence, they can rejoice knowing that she has been reunited in heaven with her family who went before her. She had an enormous amount of joy during the finalmonths of her life because she was able to return to Goldsboro and have regular visits from her family nearby.
Thank you, Wanda Smith, for being so faithful to Dolly. You were a blessing to her and the family.
