Don Parrish

Don C. Parrish, 71, of Wilson, died Friday, August 8, 2025, surrounded by his family.

He was the son of the late Alvin and Nancy Parrish. He was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn P . Strickland.

Don started work at Carolina Telephone in 1974 and retired from Century Link in 2018. While employed, he enjoyed playing softball for many years with the telephone company. He was an avid horseman and loved his John Deere tractors. He was also an avid fan of the North Carolina Tar Heels. He was a past board member of the East Coast Gospel Music Association.

Don is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marsha Rose Parrish, daughters, Julie P. Herring (Ricky) and Susan P. Lewis (John); brother, Al Parrish (Angie); grandchildren, Suzanne Edwards (Craig) and Ericka Bergstrom; great-grandchildren, Rynn Edwards, Grady Edwards, Xander Bergstrom, and Kaila Bergstrom; nephew, Lance Parrish (Heather); great-nephew, Seth Parrish, and niece, Amanda Parrish.

Special thanks to Gentiva of Goldsboro and his nurses Catherine Windham, Jenna Best, and Ashelie Jones for the excellent care they provided.

The family will receive friends Monday, 6:00-7:30 PM at Wilson Memorial Service, 2811 Fieldstream Drive N, Wilson. A graveside service will be Wednesday, 2:00 PM, at Evergreen Memorial Park, 2800 Nash St N, Wilson.
