Dora Pridgen Joyner

Dora Pridgen Morris Joyner, 100, died Thursday, March 16, 2023.

Funeral, Sunday, 2:30 PM, at Mount Zion United Methodist Church.  The visitation will be at the church Sunday from 1:00 - 2:30 PM.    Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park.

She is survived by her sons, John Stephen Joyner, Sr. (Kathy) of Elm City and Louis Dean Joyner (Gail) of Wilson; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Huldah Hart of Elm City; sister-in-law, Doris Pridgen of Elm City.

Mrs. Joyner worked as a nurse at Wilson Medical Center from 1968-1988.

Mrs. Joyner was preceded in death by her husbands, David Earl Morris and William Henry Joyner; parents, Thomas Walter Pridgen and Lillie Duke Carter Pridgen; son, Richard Earl Morris; and siblings, William Pridgen (Hazel), Richard Pridgen (Louise), Robin Pridgen (Margie & Janet), Thomas Pridgen (Agnes), Patsy Finch (Earl) and Fred Pridgen.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mount Zion United Methodist Church, 5326 London Church Rd, Elm City, NC 27822.
