BLACK CREEK - Dorothy Barnes Thorne, 81, died Tuesday, September 5, 2017.
Funeral, Friday, 11:00 AM, Black Creek Cemetery. The visitation will be at Wilson Memorial Service, Thursday, 6:30 - 8:30 PM, and other times at 200 Branch Street, Black Creek.
Dorothy was retired from Nucor Bearing Products with over 30 years of service.
Her family includes her husband, David C. Thorne; daughter, Teresa Williams (Wayne) of Black Creek; sons, James Thorne (Donna) of Black Creek and Kenny Thorne (Crystal) of Black Creek; grandchildren, Heather Gates, Tiffany Williams, Blake Williams, Alisha Taylor, Beverley Peedin, Jamie van Oppen, David Thorne, Tyler Thorne and Travis Thorne; six great-grandchildren; sister, Edna Proctor (Lennis) of Lucama; brothers, Joseph Barnes (Annette) and Ray Barnes (Joan) of Wilson, Bobby Barnes (Becky) of Saratoga and James Barnes (Shirley) of Kansas; special dog, "Peanut".
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alonzo and Olivia Batts Barnes; son, Charles Ray Thorne and sisters, Helen Barnes, Katie Godwin and Mildred May; brothers, Pete and Billy Lee Barnes.
