James Douglas “Doug” Davis, 89, of Sims, died Monday, August 3, 2026.

A graveside service will be Saturday, August 8, 11:00 AM, at Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson.

Doug was the founder and operator of Davis Heating and Air over 50 years ago.

He is survived by his sons, Jimmy Davis (Rose Marie) of Richlands and Steve Davis (Dana) of Wilmington; grandchildren, Jake Davis (Camila) of Raleigh, Matt Davis of Wilmington, Makenzie Sheehan (Ryan) of Martinsville, VA, and John Howard Hill of Wilmington; sister, Janice Parham of Raleigh; niece, Jana Anderson (Sam) of FL; nephew, Douglas Yancey (Pam) of Wendell; lifelong business partner, Ricky Tedder (Denise) of Sims and the employees of Davis Heating and Air.

Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Jacobs Davis and parents, John Jacob Davis and Shellie Elvira Narron Davis.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
