Dwight Costabile

April 30, 1956 — June 5, 2019

LOS ANGELES, CA – John Dwight Costabile III, a native of Wilson, NC, died in Los Angeles – his home for more than 30 years - after a two- year battle with lung cancer.

He was preceded in death by his partner, Richard Styche, and his parents, John and Ruth Costabile.

He is survived by a sister, Pam Stamper, and her husband Dave, both of Cary, two nieces, one nephew, several great-nephews and great-nieces, and many friends.

Known for his engaging personality and steadfast friendship, Dwight was a talented performer, singing and dancing in local productions.  After graduating from Fike High School, he earned his bachelor's degree from UNC-Chapel Hill and later studied filmmaking at LACC.

Friends will host a gathering to celebrate his life from 5-7 p.m., Friday, July 12, at Wilson Memorial Service and invite his friends and family to bring and share their memories at that time.
