Ed Lewis

No I’m Edward Howard “Ed” Lewis, 65, of Wilson, died Saturday, August 22, 2026.

A Celebration of Life Service will be on Saturday, August 29, 11:00 AM, at First Baptist Church followed by visitation.

Ed attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and later spent time living in Europe, beginning a lifelong love of travel, road trips, and experiencing new places. He had a deep appreciation for great movies and music, enjoyed reading—particularly about CIA operatives and the world of intelligence—and took pleasure in the simple things, especially a good steak cooked in the backyard. Above all, he loved his family deeply and held a special admiration and affection for his parents, particularly his father, whose influence remained important to him throughout his life.

He is survived by his sons, Bankston Lewis and Curran Lewis of Wilson; brother, William F. Lewis, Jr. of Swansboro; sister-in-law, Janet Lewis of Cape Carteret.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents William Francis Lewis and Norma Howard Lewis; brothers, Keagy Lewis and Kelly Lewis.
