Edythe “Edie P.” Woodard Joyner, 79, of Bailey, died Tuesday, September 1, 2020.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday at 6:00 PM at Wave Church (5334 Lamm Rd, Wilson) followed by visitation.

She is survived by her husband, James P. “Jimmy” Joyner; sons, David Pearson (Amy) of Bailey and Jeff Joyner (Nancy) of Lexington; grandchildren, Kellie Pearson Glover (Charlie), Joshua Pearson (Laura), Ryan Joyner (Jennifer), Pamela Pearson Martin (Chris), Jeremy Joyner; great-grandchildren, Ayden Glover, Piper Pearson, Avalynn Glover, Tessa Pearson, Adaleigh Glover, Paisley Pearson, Evelyn Joyner; sister, Marjorie Woodard Watson; brothers, Herbert Woodard and Robert Woodard; caregivers, Guadalupe Garcia, Maria Garcia and Diane O’Neil; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, Troy and Hattie Glover Woodard; son, Barney Cecil Pearson, Jr.; daughter, Pamela Kaye Pearson; sisters, Gertrude Woodard, Francis Woodard Goss, Emma Woodard Hunter and Polly Woodard; brothers, James Woodard, Troy Woodard, Tony Woodard, Clem Woodard, Billy Woodard, Jimmy Woodard and Larry Woodard.
