Elaine Barnes

Mona Elaine Parrish Barnes, 67, of Black Creek, died Monday, February 28, 2022, in her home.

The visitation will be Wednesday, 5:00 – 6:45 PM at White Oak Hill FWB Church, Bailey.  The funeral will be at 7:00 PM.  Interment, Thursday, 11:00 AM, Black Creek Cemetery, Black Creek.

She is survived by her husband, James Lee “Jimmy” Barnes, whom she married on January 21, 1972; daughters, Christy Elaine Bryant (Alan Scott) of Lucama and Glenda Lee Carroll (Phillip Shannon) of Wilson; grandchildren, Halie Joye C. Braswell (Tanner) of Lucama, Nathan Jaron Carroll of Wilson, Virginia Lee Bryant and Brantley Scott Bryant, both of Lucama; sisters, Bonnie Hayes and Dianne Turner (Wayne) of Wilson, Brenda Bunn of Lucama and Mary Frances Wright of Conway, SC; brothers, Randy Parrish of Goldsboro and Roy Parrish of Wilson.

Preceding in death were her parents, Andrew and Mary Etta Ferrell Parrish of Wilson County; sisters, Willie Lee Ivey and Peggy Larue Barnes; brothers, Jerry, Scottie and Bobby Parrish.

She retired from Wilson Medical Center with 22 years of service.
