LUMBERTON - Elithe James Port Ellis ("Chicky"), 61, went to meet the Lord on the evening of Monday, June 18, 2007 at Duke University Hospital. A caring mother and wife, Chicky treasured every moment life gave her, and always thought of others before herself. The eldest daughter of Etta Louise and William Lockhart Port, she was born and raised in Bethesda, MD. She met the love of her life, Danny Butch Ellis of Wilson, while attending Atlantic Christian College in Wilson. A memorial service celebration of her joyous life will be 3:00 PM, Friday at Wilson Memorial Service, Wilson. Interment, Queen Anne Cemetery, Fountain. Chicky is survived by her devoted husband of nearly forty years, Danny Butch Ellis, 61, went to meet the Lord on the evening of Monday, June 18, 2007 at Duke University Hospital.
