Emma Grey Durham Moye, 89, of Stantonsburg, died Friday, March 6, 2026.
Funeral, Tuesday, 6:00 PM, at Wilson Memorial Service followed by visitation. Interment, Wednesday, 11:00 AM, Stantonsburg Cemetery.
Mrs. Moye was a devoted Christian woman whose faith in God guided her life and the love she showed to those around her. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who found joy in the simple blessings of life.
For many years she worked faithfully alongside her husband on the farm sharing in the hard work and dedication that farming requires. Together they built a life rooted in family, faith, and perseverance. She took pride in caring for her home and yard. She especially loved cutting her grass and working in her yard, something she did with both joy and pride.
Mrs. Moye will be remembered for her strong work ethic, her kind heart, and the steady faith that carried her through life’s seasons. She loved her family deeply and treasured the time spent together.
She is survived by her son Timmy Moye (Tammy) of Stantonsburg; daughter-in-law, Betty Collier Moye, Lucama; grandchildren, Chelsea Bigelow (Hayne) of Zebulon, Tanya Dunn (Chris) and Nikki Webb (Brian) of Wilson, Kristin Crank (Aaron) of Lucama, and Steven Moye (Sarah) of Baltimore, MD; great-grandsons, Carter Webb, Baker Bigelow, and Aydan Dunn.
Mrs. Moye was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Carl A. Moye; son, Carlton L. Moye; parents, Jeff and Madie Pearl Harris Durham; sisters, Helen Heath and Reba Foreman; brother, Rev. Robert Durham.
Her legacy of faith, love, and hard work will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff at The Indigo in Pikeville and Gentiva Hospice for the loving care they provided to Mrs. Moye. Special thanks to Catherine Windham, RN.
