Emma Matthews Pennington, 97, of Stantonsburg, died Friday, April 28, 2017.
She was a long time member of Watery Branch FWB Church, where the funeral will be held, Sunday, 6:00 PM, followed by a time of visiting and sharing. Burial, Monday, 11:00 AM, Maplewood Cemetery, near the flagpole.
Surviving is her grandchildren, Cynthia "Cymp" Hardison, Jennifer Webb, Marty Pennington, Jay Hardison (Ann), Robert Honeycutt; great-grandchildren, Brandon Hardison (Mimi), Justin Lake; several nieces and nephews including a special and devoted niece, Peggy McKeel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J. D. and Ella Walston Matthews of Wilson County; daughter, Bettie Lou P. H. Honeycutt; son, Gene Pennington; grandson, Eddie Hardison; sisters, Nettie Matthews, Nona Floars, Gertrude Moore; brothers, Herman, Dennis and Durwood Matthews.
The family will be at the home of Jay and Ann Hardison, 4206 Evansdale Rd, Wilson.
