Gene Whisenant, Jr.

Earl Eugene "Gene" Whisenant, Jr., 69, of Stantonsburg, died Thursday, December 25, 2025.

A service was held for his immediate family.

Gene was born in Burke County, May 24, 1956.  His family moved to Wilson in 1964.

Surviving are his sisters, Linda Skinner of Elm City, Phyllis Spivey (Donald) of Stantonsburg and Rhonda Jordan (Bob) of Wendell; brother, Ricky Whisenant (Tammy) of Wilson.   

Gene was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Willie Mae Berry Whisenant and sister, Earlene Bunn.

The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Wilson Pines for their care and compassion and a special thank you to to his surgeon Dr. Craig Carter of Clayton.
