Gladys Daughtridge

Gladys Baty Daughtridge, 95, of Burlington, formerly of Wilson, died Monday, October 16, 2023.

The funeral will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023 at 11 am in the Chapel at First United Methodist Church in Wilson.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. Gladys was a hard worker. Many people will remember her as a staple at the Stork's Nest and Dottie Lou's children's clothing stores. She had a kind heart and did not know a stranger. She was strength and grace. Gladys was a faithful follower of Christ and a lifelong learner, always striving to improve herself for the joy of the Lord. She gave wise counsel and wonderful hugs. Her family was her pride.

Surviving her are daughters, Susan Stephenson of Snow Hill, G. Lee (Bob) Lawrence of Burlington, and Lynne Duncan of Okemah, OK; son V. Fletcher (Clara) Daughtridge III of Stantonsburg; beloved grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She was preceded by her mother, Helen Baty; her brother and sister; and her son-in-law Ronald Duncan.
