GARNER - Glenn Watson, 86, died Friday, May 31, 2013.
Funeral, Monday, June 3, 11:00 AM, Wilson Memorial Service, followed by visitation. Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson.
He was a Veteran of World War II, a member of the Shriners in Wilson, a former Wilson County Commissioner and founder of various family businesses. He was a member of Edenton United Methodist Church prior to moving to Garner.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Doris Bass Watson; son, Rick Watson (Brenda Womble) of Garner; grandson, Jason Watson of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; sisters, Jane Barbee of Raleigh and Etta Mae Batchelor of Lucama.
He was also lovingly known as "Grandpa" to his extended family; Beth Simmons (Ken), Noah Simmons, John Burke, Anna Burke, Abby Hupp and many others.
