Walstonburg - H. Lee Shackelford, 91, died Tuesday, March 20, 2007. Mr. Shackelford worked in the Newport News Ship Building Yard in World War II and was a retired merchant and former mayor of Walstonburg. He was a long time member of Howell Swamp FWB Church. Funeral, Thursday, 11:00 AM, Walstonburg Cemetery. Surviving is his wife, Ora Nichols Shackelford: daughter, Gloria Hyatt (Tom) of Durham: sons, David W. Shackelford of Wilmington and Harper L. Shackelford (Deborah) of Fayetteville: grandchildren, Adam, Jenna, Jordan, Andy and Brian: a favorite aunt, Vernice G. Jones of Walstonburg. The family will be at Wilson Memorial Service, 2811 Fieldstream Drive, Wilson, Wednesday, 6:30 - 8:00 PM.
