Harold Best, 90, of Wilson, died Monday, March 2, 2026.

A graveside service will be on Wednesday, March 4, 11:00 AM, at Evergreen Memorial Park.

Harold is survived by his wife, Alice Pope Best; children, Bill Johnson (Shelby), Vickie Sharpe (Tracy), Robbie Best (Kim), Wayne Best (Kimberly); bonus daughters, Lorrie Bridgers (Steve) and Margaret Hart (Billy); grandchildren, Nichole Best, Angel Sharpe, Jessica Jonas, Michele Moore, and Christopher Sharpe; bonus grandchildren, Dakota Whitley, Brandon Meadows, and Amanda Nichols; sisters, Peggy Barnes and Ruth Whitley; brother, Ricky Best (Gwen); daughter-in-law, Rhonda Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy (Ann) Griffin Best; parents, William David Best, and Mary Etta Best; son, Robert Johnson; brothers, Kermit, William, Donald and Wilbert Best; brother-in-law, Tommy Griffin.

The family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to Dr. John Parker and his wonderful staff for the years of wonderful care to Harold (PA). Also to 3HC Hospice Care for their compassion and care in his final days. The team has been a God send!
