Harry Lamm, Jr.

Harry Linwood Lamm, Jr., 73, of Wilson, died Sunday, July 13, 2025.

A service in honor of Harry will be Thursday, 2:00 PM, at Wilson Memorial Service followed by visitation.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Williams Lamm and their three children: Anna Elizabeth Lamm of Wake Forest, Harry L. Lamm III of Wilson and William Thomas Lamm and his wife, Elizabeth, of Raleigh; sisters, Geraldine Heenan (Jim) of Raleigh and Sandra Homes (Garland) of Wilson; brothers, Brad Lamm (Drucilla) of Wilson, Jack R Lamm II (Dan) of Apex, and Scott M. Lamm of Raleigh. Harry was a devoted family man. Among his many friends, he was teasingly called by his nickname, "Lambchop".

He was preceded in death by his parents Geraldine Williamson Lamm and Harry L. Lamm, Sr.

He played tackle on the Fike High School Football 4-A State Championship teams. After high school he joined the U.S. Coast Guard where he served two years and then became part of the Reserves. Upon his return to Wilson, Harry enrolled at Wilson Community College and afterwards he and his brother, Brad, started Tarheel Lawn Maintenance serving businesses in Wilson and surrounding counties for 25 years. His mechanical training and skills were critical for maintaining and servicing their tractors, lawn mowers and equipment. He was always "tinkering" and took a great deal of pride in solving those required mechanical challenges. He was a great storyteller and willingly shared his stories with anyone who would listen. Harry was an avid fisherman and boater; he also qualified for his scuba diving certificate. He enjoyed water skiing, and loved teaching others how to ski. His interest in the outdoors was evident through his support of the local Boy Scout Troop 6. He built and welded a large portable barbecue grill which he carried to picnics and scouting jamborees. Harry loved fall weekends often waking up at 3 am, loading his truck and heading out to the duck blinds. He had a keen interest in duck hunting in particular and brought home many trophies which are still hanging in his home in Wilson.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Boy Scout Troop 6, PO Box 1423, Wilson, NC 27894 or SECU Hospice House, 426 Hospital Dr, Smithfield, NC 27577.

Arrangements by Wilson Memorial Service, 2811 Fieldstream Dr. N, Wilson, (252) 237-7171; www.wilsonmemorialservice.com
