Hazel Evans

Hazel Virginia Peacock Evans, age 93, of Selma, died Saturday, September 27, 2025.

Funeral, Friday, 1:00 PM at Wilson Memorial Service, followed by visitation. Interment, Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Clayton.

Hazel was born September 22, 1932 in Geneva County, Alabama, to the late Moulton D. Peacock and Murial Griffin Peacock.

She is survived by her sons, David and Danny; daughter, Dianne and husband Jesse Hawkins; grandson, Jacob Hawkins; and her sister, Betty Horseman (Ed).

Hazel graduated from Slocomb High School in Slocomb, Alabama in 1951. She studied nursing and became a Registered Nurse in 1954.

She was a very loving mother, wife, grandmother, aunt, and friend.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 69 years, Edward R. Evans; sister, Katie Jean Peacock; and brother, Royce Peacock (Elli).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the charity of one's choice.
