Helen Owens

Helen Jenkins Owens, 91, of Wilson, passed on to be with her Lord on Saturday, December 13, 2025.

A graveside service will be Wednesday, 2:00 PM, at Evergreen Memorial Park.

Mrs. Owens was born in Wilson County on August 25, 1934. She was a kind and gentle Christian lady who loved the Lord. She was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church for over 60 years, sang in the choir, and helped with children’s Sunday School. She was a homemaker and a great cook who took care of her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Andrews (Skip) of Wilson; sons, Billy Owens (Nancy) of Wilson and Rev. Bobby Owens (Sharon) of Chocowinity; grandchildren, Shannon Smith (Jeff), Kevin Andrews, Dana Tyndall (Matt), and Kinsey Womble (Brad); great-grandchildren, Jacob Smith (Kirbyanne), Kaden and Jaxon Tyndall, Sawyer Womble, and Sophie Womble; sister, Peggy Roberson of Rocky Mount.

Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by her husband Robert Clay “R.C.” Owens, Jr.; parents, James and Estelle Jenkins; sisters, Ruth Joyner and Rachel Harrell; brother, Jimmie Jenkins.

The family would like to thank everyone at Wilson Pines Nursing and Gentiva Hospice for their kindness, their love and service to Mom during her time of difficulty. We will never forget you.
