SIMS - Henry L. Poythress, 82, died Monday, September 18, 2017.
He was a retired U.S.D.A meat inspector with 36 years of service. He was then manager of Old South Foods for five years. Henry was a member of Hornes United Methodist Church and also attended Sims United Methodist Church.
Funeral, Thursday, 11:00 AM, Wilson Memorial Service, 2811 Fieldstream Dr, Wilson. Burial, Marsh Swamp Church Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home, Wednesday, 7:00 - 8:30 PM.
Surviving is his wife, Norma Davis Poythress; daughters, Glenda Jo Poythress of Wake Forest and Sherry Parker (Larry) of Franklinton; grandchildren, Jordan Parker (Natalie) of Youngsville, Ashley James (Chris) of Wake Forest, Dana Stone (James Saunders) of Raleigh; great-grandchildren, Savannah & Ansley Parker, Nora & Aubrey James; sister, Juanita Walston of Sims, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosce Mack and Alma Mercer Poythress of Wilson County; brothers, Chester, Kirby, William, Douglas, Carroll and H.M. Poythress.
