WILSON - Herman C. Wood, 78, died Monday, June 2, 2008. He served during the Korean Conflict in the Marines and went on to retire as a Senior District Executive of the Boy Scouts of America. Funeral, Friday, 11 AM, First United Methodist Church. Surviving is his wife, Ruth Atkinson Greene Wood: daughter, Ruth Anne G. Hering (Ed) of Virginia Beach, VA: son, Lester "Max" Greene (Debbie) of Raleigh: grandchildren, Laura, Mark and Emma Hering. Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church, PO Box 1423, Wilson, NC 27894, or to the Northwest Georgia Council, BSA, 100 E.
