WILSON - Hubert Lester Lucas, 76, died Tuesday, November 8, 2016.
Funeral, Thursday, 1:00 PM, Wilson Memorial Service. The visitation will be at the funeral home one hour before the funeral. Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park.
Hubert loved his family, church and being outside. He retired from the Wilson Police Department with 30 years and then worked with Leonard Turnage for 17 years.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary G. Beamon.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Gardner Lucas; daughters, Donna L. Peed (Wendell) of Wilson and Penny L. Cobb (David) of Bailey; grandchildren, Stephanie P. Watkins (Zack), Rachel P. Godwin (Everett), Lucas W. Peed, Tabitha C. Fleming (Landon), Trevor E. Cobb and Tiffany R. Cobb; great-grandchildren, Makenzie Watkins, Kylan Watkins, Layla Claire Fleming, Tanner Cobb and Kolton Cobb; sister, Brenda Jean Koehler (Sherman) of Cape Carteret; brothers, Doug Lucas (Debbie) of Wilson and Bruce Beamon (Cammie) of Oak Island; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Shenandoah Baptist Church, Youth Camp Fund, 3894 Shenandoah Dr, Rocky Mount, NC 27803.
