WILSON - Ida Ruth Walston Owens, 62, died Tuesday, December 27, 2005. She had recently retired from Edgecombe Community College with 14 years of service as a Computer Science Instructor. Ida Ruth was an active volunteer in various capacities at First Baptist Church. Funeral, Friday, 2:00 PM, First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the funeral. Surviving: husband, Jerry G. Owens: daughters, Catherine Drummond of the home and Amy Drummond and her fiancée, Dan Halvorson, of Wilmington: step-daughter, Cherie Adams of Brentwood, TN: step-son, Jerry G. Owens, Jr. of Lebanon, TN: 4 grandchildren: Jessica, Alli, Lauren, and Austin. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church, PO Box 1467, Wilson NC 27894 or to the charity of one's choice.
