WILSON - James Ray Barnes, 85, died Sunday, December 19, 2010. Funeral, Tuesday, 7 PM, Wilson Memorial Service, 2811 Fieldstream Drive, followed by a time of visiting. Interment, Wednesday, 11 AM, Maplewood Cemetery. He served in the military in World War II and retired from the utilities industry. Surviving are his daughters, Diane Smith (Marvin) of Kenly and Lynn Askew (Phil) of Wilson; son, Jimmy Barnes of Wilson; grandchildren, Rhonda Godwin (John), Heather Smith and Emily Askew-Lovett (Scott); great-grandchildren, Emma Caroline Godwin and Sam Lovett; brother, H. L. Barnes of Goldsboro. Memorials are suggested to the FWB Children's Home, PO Box 249, Middlesex, NC 27557.
