James Mercer

James E. Mercer, 84, died Saturday, May 3, 2014.
Funeral, Monday, 11 AM, Maplewood Cemetery, Rose Garden.
James served in the National Guard for over 27 years and was a member of the Moose, Masonic Lodge 117, and Sudan Temple Shrine. His vocation was as a supervisor for the former Samson Manufacturing Co.
Surviving is his wife, Betsy Thomas Mercer; daughter, Lynn M. Baker (Greg) of Sims; grandson, Michael Lewis (Amy) of Bailey; two great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; sister, Katherine Bryant of Elm City; sister-in-law, Alice Mercer of Elm City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James W. and Lillie Mae Summerlin Mercer; brother, Clarence Mercer; brother-in-law, Wilbur Bryant.
