LUCAMA - James Earl Newman, Sr., 87, died Friday, August 17, 2012.
Funeral, Saturday, 3 PM, Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1423 Forest Hills Rd NW, Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James William and Minnie Aycock Newman; granddaughter, Daughn Elizabeth Newman; brothers, Joshua Daniel Newman and William Allison Newman.
Surviving is his wife of 63 years, Annice Creech Newman; daughters, Glenda Long (Steve) of Lucama, Sandra Newman of Lucama, Wanda Pope (Hershel) of Kenly and Judy Joyner (Ron) of Rocky Mount; sons, James Earl Newman, Jr, (Sharon) of Wilson, Gene Newman (Mickey) of Greenville and Billy Newman (Magalie) of Greensboro; 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
