J. B. Vick

FAISON - John (J.B.) Braxton Vick, Sr., 91, of Faison, formerly of Stantonsburg, died Friday, October 11, 2019, in Wilmington. His first wife, Mary Frances Vick, died in 1994.

Funeral, Monday, 2:00 PM, in Stantonsburg Cemetery.

J.B. was Vice-President of Maintenance for S.T. Wooten Construction Co. for 45 years. He loved boating, fishing, working with plants and “fixing things”.  When the U.S. Air Force was established in 1947, he was among the first Army personnel to be moved to the new branch and he served a three year tour of duty.

He is survived by his current wife, Peggy Wellington Rogers Vick; son, J. Braxton Vick, Jr. (Wanda) of Lexington, SC; daughter, Jan Vick Betts (Keith) of Wilmington; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sister, Grace Peoples of Raleigh.
