Fremont - Jean Gates Batten, 80, of Frank Price Church Rd, Fremont, died April 17, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elton "Speed" Batten, and a daughter, Dale Ingram. Funeral, Wednesday, 4 PM, Black Creek Cemetery. Surviving is her daughter, Gloria Jean Ingram (Rusty) of Biloxi, MS; sons, Johnny Ingram (Sandra) of Black Creek, Ronnie Ingram (Kathy) of Elm City, James Ray Ingram (Brenda) of Pikeville; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Sue Bartlett Eason of Lucama; brother, Jimmy Gates of Black Creek; half-brother, Palmer Grady of Wilson. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Wilson Medical Center, 1705 Tarboro St, SW, Wilson, NC 27893, or Masonic Home for Children, 600 College St, Oxford, NC 27565.
